Former Tech Mahindra India business head Jagdish Mitra has announced the launch of Humanize, a generative AI IP-powered SaaS startup, just four months after leaving the IT services company.
The new venture, which combines generative AI with low code/no code capabilities, aims to reduce the time it takes for customers to develop and bring solutions to market.
Mitra, now the founder and CEO of Humanize, explained, “One of the big problems businesses have is they don’t seem to have all the data structured and organised in a manner where they can take advantage of AI. So that’s our first job at Humanize. We are creating our own GenAI toolkit, which will help deploy the same SaaS platform at 15 – 25 percent faster pace.”
The launch of Humanize follows former Tech Mahindra CEO CP Gurnani’s AI venture AionOS, which was founded in partnership with InterGlobe founder Rahul Bhatia.
According to the report, Humanize’s product is currently in development and is expected to hit the market within the next five to six months. The startup plans to initially target India and the US, focusing on GCCs within enterprises.
The startup’s hiring strategy includes expanding its team, currently composed of 14-15 senior executives, to 800-1,000 employees over the next five years. Humanize also plans to onboard around 80-100 customers during this period.
Leveraging his position on the board of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the government’s youth internship program, Mitra is committed to hiring about 100 skilled individuals from the internship program annually.
In the long term, Mitra aims to expand into Southeast Asia, Germany, the Nordic countries, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Japan, with a focus on customer experience, supply chain, and sustainability.
The US-headquartered startup will begin with two monetisation strategies: a project-oriented, services-based model, which will later transition into an outcome-based model. Mitra explained, “I’m trying to change the good old [revenue] model that already got applied many times over to something which is a lot more outcome-oriented rather than manpower-oriented. I don’t want to go to the manpower-oriented models.”
Humanize has also formed a strategic partnership with global technology and digital talent solutions provider NLB Services, which has invested in the startup. Mitra, confident in the current funding, does not plan to seek additional capital for product development and market launch.
“NLB’s biggest advantage is that they are a big talent company. They have built their whole business around being able to source the right talent at speed,” Mitra added.
