Vision Pro to Make a Worldwide Release Soon?

The Apple Vision Pro is likely to make a worldwide release next month. In a recent report, Bloomberg highlighted that employees from several international stores have been flown into the US to undergo training in the usage of the headset.

This move is speculated to be a step towards a worldwide release for the Vision Pro, which was released in the US in February last year. Now, Apple is expected to release the spatial computer during the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference to be held between June 10 and 14.

Ahead of its release, let’s look at how the Vision Pro and similar spatial computers could change industries for the better in India, especially when it comes to tasks that are dangerous or extensive.

Top Apple Vision Pro Use Cases for Users

  1. Disaster Management and Emergency Response
  2. Healthcare
  3. Aerospace and Aviation
  4. Aerospace and Aviation
  5. Oil and Gas
  6. Agriculture and Food Production
  7. Cultural Preservation
  8. Urban Planning and Infrastructure
  9. Manufacturing
  10. Scientific Research

1. Disaster Management and Emergency Response

As the seventh largest country in the world, India is disaster-prone in several areas, be it in terms of floods, cyclones, and earthquakes, or even smaller challenges of dealing with rain-inundated areas or fighting a fire.

Issues with disaster management, according to the National Disaster Management Authority, include the lack of local data and coordination. These can be rectified through the use of the device, which helps in assessing, compiling, and providing real-time information, and improving coordination efforts between departments and on-ground responders.

Additionally, it can double up as a training device, allowing responders to simulate potential disasters in order to devise effective strategies.

2. Healthcare

The Vision Pro has already seen several uses in healthcare, both in the UK as well as in India. Recently, doctors in Chennai made use of the mixed-reality headset during several surgeries, to aid them in real-time monitoring.

Additionally, in areas lacking in continuous training capabilities, a one-time investment in the MR device could help train several batches of students in particularly sensitive areas, like surgery or even diagnosis, without the potential risks associated with it.

3. Aerospace and Aviation

Similarly, with real-time monitoring a major factor in the aviation and aerospace industries, the headset could help in improving these capabilities, while lowering the costs in providing a portable real-time monitoring device.

It could also help lower the risk of accidents, particularly in low visibility areas and situations where pilots are cut-off from ATC towers. It can also aid repair work, particularly in spotting anomalies, as well as in training both flight crew and technicians in simulated settings.

4. Oil and Gas

Safety being a high priority in the oil and gas industry, the Vision Pro could serve as a potential remedy for issues in real-time assessments for risk and emergency responses.

Like disaster management, this could also help companies draft effective emergency response strategies through the use of MR simulations. MR headsets could also lower risks with fewer workers needed to deal with situations in hazardous environments, with the use of real-time monitoring by remote experts.

5. Agriculture and Food Production

With drought and food shortages a major point of contention in India, particularly recently, the Vision Pro could help assess on-ground situations on a case-by-case basis. Though this would be an expensive investment, it could help government officials aid farmers in understanding the reasons behind crop failure.

6. Cultural Preservation

An interesting use case for the Vision Pro could be in preserving cultural monuments within the country. In an era of rapid urbanisation and looming threat of losing out on history, the tool could help in mapping out and providing a timeless experience for tourists, even in the event of the loss of a historical site.

Additionally, MR could help tourists and historians understand heritage sites better with simulated environments created out of ruins.

7. Urban Planning and Infrastructure

As mentioned, rapid urbanisation has taken a grip over India, however, concerns on effective urbanisation have long been a point of contention. In addition to architectural capabilities, the Vision Pro could help in aiding urban planning, even going so far as to simulate developments in villages, towns and cities, to understand how they will fare in the future.

This would also help in ensuring that long-term proposals for urban planning remain effective well into the future.

8. Manufacturing

Large-scale manufacturers could lower the costs of training or even bridge the training gap by investing in MR capabilities. The potential for workers to train using the Vision Pro, without the need for an instructor or without the necessary training materials, could help in lowering the risk of accidents caused due to the lack of training.

This would be particularly helpful in the case of India, where there is a lack of qualified candidates for highly specialised roles like machine operating.

9. Scientific Research

A lot of the use cases mentioned above, such as healthcare, agriculture, aviation, engineering, could all use the Vision Pro for research purposes too. Despite a more hefty price, compared to current simulation tech, scientific visualisation could become much cheaper with devices like the Vision Pro.

Especially with tech like Google DeepMind’s AlphaFold making rapid advancements.

AI to help resolve numerous criminal cases.

The post 9 AI Tools for Solving Crime, Narcotics, and Murder Investigations in 2024 appeared first on AIM.

]]>

In January, the Delhi Police solved a ‘blind case’ with the help of AI. A 30-member team used the technology to reconstruct the face of an unidentified victim and then circulated the image to gather information.

Advance your skills in data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence by participating in latest AI Hackathons

The AI-generated image, showing the victim’s face with open eyes and a modified background, was uploaded on the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network (CCTN) website. The victim’s brother recognised the person in the picture and contacted the police, resulting in the identification of the deceased individual.

This milestone, however, merely scratches the surface of AI’s potential. Across the globe, countries like the USA, the UK, Japan, and Singapore are actively harnessing AI to combat various forms of criminal activity.

In one of the reports, Armando Aguilar, the Miami assistant police chief noted, “Before AI, the police department was only able to arrest suspects in 45% of murders and less than 38% of violent crimes. However, after it started using the technology in 2023, it solved 68% of the murders that occurred that year and 58% of the violent crimes.”

As the efficacy of AI in crime-solving continues, here are 9 AI models poised to revolutionise crime detection and prevention.

1. Video and Image Analysis

AI video and image algorithms are capable of developing and determining their own independent complex facial recognition features/parameters. These algorithms excel in matching faces, recognising weapons and various objects, and detecting events like accidents and ongoing or past criminal activities.

In Malaysia, researchers are actively working on AI software tailored for CCTV cameras to curb street crimes. This software operates independently, analyzing camera footage to identify potential criminal activities.

According to the researchers, the software is multifunctional, capable of detecting weapon possession, aggressive behaviours, and alerting law enforcement of suspected crimes.

2. DNA Analysis

During a crime, biological material like blood, saliva, semen, and skin cells can be transmitted through contact with people and objects. And with advancements in the DNA technology, we can now detect even small amounts of DNA collected from these biological samples.

Further, to identify and differentiate DNA from multiple individuals, including those not connected to the crime, researchers have worked to explore a new method.

They used a hybrid approach of combining human analysts and AI algorithms supported by the National Institute of Justice research award to overcome the limitations of using only one method.

3. Emergency Call Software

According to the World Health Organisation, 1 in 3 (30%) of women worldwide have been subjected to domestic violence in their lifetime. To address this issue, a UK-based start-up Untrite AI has designed an AI emergency call software

Drawing from two years’ worth of historical data related to domestic abuse calls provided by Humberside Police, the system is trained to recognise patterns and prioritise urgent situations effectively.

4. NarcGuideBot

Quadrant Technologies Confidential has developed NarcGuideBot, an AI-powered assistance in Narcotics Investigations. The tool is designed to help inexperienced officers in complex drug enforcement.

Further, the tool expedites form-related tasks by simplifying form access, providing accurate filling instructions, and ensuring legal compliance through error-detection systems.

5. Gunshot Detection

Another advancement in AI is to identify unknown shootings. Sensors are installed in multiple infrastructures that are linked to cloud-based programs. These sensors record when and where guns are fired, and further aid in determining the location of the shooter.

The recorded data is then forwarded to the police stations and displayed as a pop-up notification on a computer or mobile device.

6. Predictive Analysis

Predictive analysis, which uses large volumes of data to forecast and formulate potential outcomes, is a job that requires many years of expertise. But with AI, volumes of information on the law and legal precedence, social information, and media can be used for rulings, identifying criminal enterprises, and predicting people at risk.

Utilising algorithms, the Chicago Police Department collaborated with the Illinois Institute of Technology to gather data and create initial groupings. These groupings are centred on building social networks and conducting analyses to identify potential high-risk individuals.

7. Blood Pressure Prediction

Machine learning and deep learning techniques for blood pressure prediction might not directly aid in crime solving, but they could contribute to forensic investigations, and criminal and victim profiling in certain cases.

In crime scenes where blood pressure data is available, such as from medical records or wearable devices, machine learning algorithms could analyse this data along with other evidence to reconstruct events leading up to a crime.

8. Facial Emotion Recognition

Using the hybrid DL architecture based on Convolutional Neural Networks and Stacked AutoEncoder, the facial expression recognition (FER) feature is developed to enhance crime-solving capabilities. This includes suspect and victim identification, sentiment analysis, behavioural analysis, and crime scene analysis.

For instance, during police interrogations, suspects may attempt to conceal their true emotions. FER systems can aid in detecting deception by analysing subtle changes in facial expressions, which could indicate lying or discomfort.

9. Crime GPT

In a groundbreaking development in India, Crime GPT, an AI tool created by Staqu Technologies, helped the UP Police catch criminals.

Crime GPT can quickly extract information about individuals through both written and spoken inquiries. Its features, including facial and vocal recognition, along with the analysis of criminal networks, promise to streamline investigative processes.

By tapping into digital criminal databases, Crime GPT equips police departments with insights, facilitating specific details about their queries.

Crime GPT is an extended version of Staqu Technologies’ tool Trinetra. It is renowned for its proficiency in tracking criminals via facial and vocal cues. With Trinetra, the UP Police have a database with information on over 900,000 criminals.

When (Not) to Use Cosine Similarity https://analyticsindiamag.com/top-ai-tools/when-not-to-use-cosine-similarity/ Thu, 14 Mar 2024 05:44:30 +0000 https://analyticsindiamag.com/?p=10115604

Netflix researchers are not big fans of cosine similarity.

The post When (Not) to Use Cosine Similarity appeared first on AIM.

]]>

Cosine similarity, a popular metric in assessing semantic similarity between high-dimensional objects, is facing scrutiny regarding its universal applicability. While commonly employed across various domains, recent studies suggest that its efficacy might not be consistent across all scenarios, prompting a re-evaluation of its necessity.

In a recent paper by Netflix researchers Harald Steck, Chaitanya Ekanadham, and Nathan Kallus, titled ‘Is Cosine-Similarity of Embeddings Really Necessary Everywhere?’, the authors explore the nuanced landscape surrounding cosine similarity within the context of linear matrix factorisation models. Their findings challenge the assumption that cosine similarity is indispensable in all AI applications, advocating for a more discerning approach.

Central to the debate is the realisation that cosine similarity may not always capture semantic similarity as reliably as previously thought. The Netflix study uncovers instances where cosine similarity fails to provide meaningful insights, emphasising the importance of considering alternative measures in certain contexts.

https://twitter.com/1littlecoder/status/1767283734926041320

In natural language processing, for example, where cosine similarity is often used to assess the semantic similarity between words or documents, researchers may benefit from considering alternative metrics that capture the nuances of language semantics better.

Similarly, in recommender systems, where cosine similarity is employed to measure the similarity between users or items, exploring alternative techniques may lead to more accurate recommendations and improved user satisfaction.

What to do?

“Why would anyone expect cosine-similarity to be a useful metric?,” said a user on HackerNews. “In the real world, the arbitrary absolute position of an object in the universe (if it could be measured) isn’t that important, it’s the directions and distances to nearby objects that matter most,” he added.

In traditional linear matrix factorisation models, the reliance on cosine similarity as a default similarity measure is commonplace. However, as the Netflix study reveals, this may not always be justified.

Bindu Reddy, the founder of Abacus.AI, posted on X saying, “It goes back to building good RAG systems, which is hard. Before deploying these systems, you have to make intelligent decisions about chunking, hierarchical chunking, embedding, and even the algorithm for similarity look-up. Failure modes will be high and accuracy low if you don’t use the appropriate techniques.”

A recent blog by Andew Nguonly also suggested adding keyword search to improve the results, and further improving it by involving RAG. “In fact, I’d bet that this is the expectation of many users of RAG applications already,” he said in the blog.

To make this clear, authors of the paper proved it by leveraging analytical derivations from linear matrix factorization models, the authors shed light on the limitations of cosine similarity and propose alternative metrics for similarity evaluation.

Their findings highlight the need for a nuanced understanding of the underlying data and the suitability of different metrics based on the specific requirements of each application, which leads back to using vector embeddings and RAG.

One alternative metric gaining traction in similarity evaluation is the unnormalised dot-product between embedded vectors. Unlike cosine similarity, which relies on the normalisation of vectors, the unnormalised dot-product preserves the original magnitudes of the vectors, providing a different perspective on similarity assessment.

Additionally, techniques based on optimal transport have emerged as promising alternatives to cosine similarity, particularly in scenarios where the underlying data exhibits complex geometric structures. While computationally expensive, these techniques offer a more theoretically sound approach to measuring similarity, taking into account the curvature of the underlying manifold.

Not all that redundant

By embracing a more nuanced approach to similarity evaluation, informed by the latest research and guided by the specific characteristics of their data and analysis goals, researchers and practitioners can unlock new insights and drive innovation in their respective fields. However, the paper also falls short of proposing alternatives to the test, leaving us hanging.

“There aren’t any alternatives: cosine similarity is effectively an extension of Euclidean distance, which is the mathematically correct way for finding the distance between vectors,” explained a user on HackerNews. “You may not want to use cosine similarity as your only metric for rankings, however, and you may want to experiment with how you construct the embeddings.”

While acknowledging the utility of cosine similarity in many scenarios, the authors caution against its indiscriminate use. Instead, they advocate for a case-by-case evaluation of the appropriateness of cosine similarity, considering factors such as data characteristics, model architecture, and the intended use of similarity metrics.

The debate surrounding the necessity of cosine similarity underscores the evolving nature of similarity evaluation in data-driven fields. While cosine similarity remains a valuable tool in many contexts, its blind application may lead to suboptimal outcomes.

Through rigorous analysis and thoughtful consideration of alternatives, researchers and practitioners can navigate the complexities of similarity measurement more effectively, ensuring that the right metric is used for the right task.

Hugging Face provides abundant tools to build textual or visual AI models ethically

The post 6 Best Hugging Face Tools to Identify Biases in ML Systems in 2024 appeared first on AIM.

]]>

Hugging Face, the go-to platform for AI developers and researchers, has long played a pivotal role in starting and sustaining a dialogue about ethics and responsibilities. The open-source community has been dependent on the platform to access resources, one of the contributing factors being the space it provides for an open and inclusive discussion to build AI ethically — be it textual or visual models.

Some of the key contributors, who have been involved in various projects aimed at promoting ethical AI, are: Alexandra Sasha Luccioni, Margaret Mitchell, and Yacine Jernite from Hugging Face and Christopher Akiki from ScaDS.AI, Leipzig University.

Here are six tools hosted on Hugging Face to assist researchers in building AI models with ethical considerations.

Diffusion Cluster Explorer

This tool was designed to investigate biases at the societal level within data. The demo on the website leverages the gender and ethnicity representation clusters to analyze social trends within machine-generated visual representations of professions.

The Professions Overview tab lets users compare the distribution over identity clusters across professions for Stable Diffusion and DALL.E-2 systems. The ‘Professions Focus’ tab provides more details for each of the individual professions, including direct system comparisons and examples of profession images for each cluster.

Users can compare the distribution of identity clusters across different professions and access detailed information about individual professions. This work is part of the Stable Bias Project.

Identity Representation Demo

This demo showcases patterns in images generated by Stable Diffusion and DALL.E-2 systems. Specifically, those obtained from prompt inputs that span various gender- and ethnicity-related terms are clustered to show how those shape visual representations. ‘System’ corresponds to the number of images from the cluster that come from each of the TTI systems that we are comparing: DALL.E 2, Stable Diffusion v.1.4. and Stable Diffusion v.2.

‘Gender term’ shows the number of images based on the input prompts that used the phrases man, woman, non-binary person, and person to describe the figure’s gender. Meanwhile, ‘Ethnicity label’ corresponds to the number of images from each of the 18 ethnicity descriptions used in the prompts. A blank value denotes unmarked ethnicity.

BoVW Nearest Neighbors Explorer

This tool utilizes a TF-IDF index of identity dataset images generated by three models, employing a visual vocabulary of 10,752 words. Users can select a generated identity image to find its nearest neighbors using a bag-of-visual-words model.

Language models

Plug-and-Play Bias Detection

As language models are today being used in everyday technology, it has become imperative to choose an approach to limit biases and constraints in the systems. To address the issue, researchers are developing key metrics such as BOLD, HONEST, and WinoBias. These metrics will help in quantifying the proclivity of language models to generate text that may be perceived as “unfair” across a spectrum of diverse prompts.

Within the framework provided, users can select a model of their choice along with a metric of relevance to execute their own assessments. However, generating these evaluative scores ends one issue. To further use those generated numbers, AVID’s data model comes in handy to simplify the process of collating findings through structured reports.

Data Measurements Tool

The demo of this tool under development showcases the dataset measures as we develop them. Right now this has a few preloaded datasets for which users can:

  • view some general statistics about the text vocabulary, lengths, labels
  • explore some distributional statistics to assess the properties of the language
  • view some comparison statistics and an overview of the text distribution

Fair Diffusion Explorer

Here the researchers introduce a novel strategy designed to mitigate biases in generative text-to-image models post-deployment. This approach, as demonstrated, involves the deliberate adjustment of biases based on human instructions. As underscored by empirical evaluations, this newfound capability allows the precise instruction of generative image models on the principles of fairness, without the need for data filtering or additional training.

Developing and deploying AI responsibly requires tools to help the entire development team understand what they’re doing and show them how their choices affect the end users. Researchers, analysts, and policymakers today are in dire need of minimising, if not avoiding the harm AI model can cause.

Toolkits play a fundamental role in creating systems fairer, more robust and transparent. Here are seven toolkits that can assist in implementing AI ethically.

NASSCOM Responsible AI Resource Kit

In 2022, the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) collaborated with industry leaders including Microsoft, Tata Consultancy Services and IBM Research to introduce the Responsible AI Hub and resource kit. As the name suggests, the objective behind this initiative is to ensure responsible integration of AI technology.

NASSCOM will maintain this evolving reference, continually incorporating the latest research and industry best practices, drawing from several credible sources. This kit equips businesses with the tools and guidance for AI development and deployment while complying with standards ethically. Moreover, the kit offers insights for identifying and mitigating ethical risks that may arise while implementing AI-powered solutions.

AI and data protection risk toolkit

The Information Commissioner’s Office of UK launched an AI and data protection toolkit last year as part of the effort to spread best practices in the use of AI. The toolkit is available as an Excel file on its website to download and edit to help organisations through several stages. During the release, senior policy officer Alister Pearson said it has been developed to help organisations comply with data protection regulations and win public trust in the use of AI.

Ethics in Tech Toolkit

The Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University developed the project to provide free resources for everyone to integrate ethics into their products and designs. The project includes a comprehensive ethical toolkit for engineering and design practice that consists of seven tools that can be combined with engineering and design workflows. The toolkit can be an attempt to ensure that practitioners responsibly develop technologies and ethics does not become ‘vaporware’.

Playing with AI Fairness: What-if Tool

Abbreviated as WIT, the tool developed by Google makes it easier to examine, evaluate, and debug ML systems easily and accurately. The open-source interactive visual tool enables the understanding of a classification or regression model by enabling users to examine, evaluate, and compare models.

Thanks to its simple user-friendly interface and reduced dependency on coding, this tool caters to a wide range of users. Whether you’re a seasoned developer, researcher, or student, this resource can integrate into your workflow through TensorBoard or as an extension within a Jupyter or Colab notebook.

Ethics and Algorithms Toolkit

The toolkit developed by Joy Bunaguro and his colleagues asks a series of questions that grade the different types of risk in a data-driven initiative. Depending upon the level of risk, the toolkit contains suggestions for mitigations.

Aequitas

Developed in 2018 by the University of Chicago Center for Data Science and Public Policy Aequitas is an open-source bias audit toolkit. The tool is built to be used by a broad set of people from developers to policymakers. The purpose of the tool is to audit machine learning models for discrimination, bias, and make informed and equitable decisions around predictive risk-assessment tools.

Human-AI eXperience (HAX) Toolkit

The tool by Microsoft is best used early in the development process to design human-centric AI systems. The toolkit is made of four parts: HAX Workbook, HAX design patterns, HAX Playbook, HAX Design Library. HAX draws its foundation from a 2019 research paper, effectively turning its theoretical principles into practical tools. In many ways, these guidelines advocate for clarity and precision in UI copy, while being easy to implement plans in case of system failures.

Marsh’s need to make Ruff was born out of his own frustrations with tools in the Python ecosystem

The post This Rust-based Python Linting Tool is Quick as Lightning appeared first on AIM.

]]>

Code quality tools like linters and test frameworks are an important bit of the machine for developers. Linters play the part of keeping the code error free and ensure that it conforms to the rules implemented in the team. Conversely, when these tools are slow and sluggish, they can slow down development to a great degree. A new tool from this space called Ruff has been making noise in the community of late.

Comparative study in speed between Ruff and other linting tools

Origin of Ruff

Charlie Marsh, a Khan Academy alum released the tool last year on August 30 but in the five months that have gone by, Ruff has gained a lot of ground. Marsh admits that Ruff’s sudden popularity has taken him by surprise, and that is why he called it ‘Ruff’ (rough). “I don’t consider it production-ready, it’s only a proof-of-concept,” he said on a thread posted on Hacker News

Last month, Marsh wrote a blog post discussing where he wanted to take Ruff in the future. ‘I meant to write this post after the first 100 releases, but now (v0.0.226) seems as good a time as any to recap the progress we’ve made over the last few months, and share more on where we’re headed,’ he stated.

Need for speed in Python tools

Marsh’s need to make Ruff was born out of his own frustrations with tools in the Python ecosystem. JavaScript has been on the beneficial side as its tools have evolved and grown faster with time. Since projects have become heavier and more complicated, new packages emerged based on languages which were faster and consumed lesser energy.

Marsh calls this the ‘Rustification’ of the JavaScript toolkit. A bunch of these new tools are all built on new programming languages like SWC and Rome are built on Rust, esbuild is built on Go and Bun is built on Zig.

And there’s good reason to have more Rust-based tools. Karthik Devaraj, a full-stack developer with MachineHack explains, “While Rust is an object-oriented language like C++, it combines less energy consumption with faster speed. Earlier, it used to take me around 21 seconds, but once I switched to the Rust-based SWC, it took me between 2 to 3 seconds.”

Marsh felt that the Python environment too could gain from similar faster tools. Ruff has been found to be over 150X faster than Flake8, a popular Python lint wrapper; 75X faster than pycodestyle, the official linter to check Python for the PEP8 Python style; and 50X faster than pylint.

Ruff now has become the primary linter for some of the most important Python-based projects like Pandas, FastAPI, Apache Airflow and Jupyter on GitHub even as it gets high praise from the community.

A developer listed the advantages of Ruff – “I love Ruff. These are reasons it ended up being better than simply touching a ‘standard of excellence’. First off, it has a second-mover advantage. It has learned from all the existing tools. Secondly, it is deduplicated work which means it pretty much is a ‘do everything’ and does it all at once. (Using three separate linters meeting different needs would mean it parses through the code three times). And thirdly, Rust is faster than Python.”

Just yesterday, Marsh tweeted the happy news that open-source platform Hugging Face had adopted Ruff already. Sayak Paul, a developer at the company spoke about the tool saying, “It’s bloody fast and actually takes actions instead of just plain erroring out that you didn’t use a particular import.”

Sylvain Gugger, a senior ML engineer at the company, in fact, lauded Marsh saying, “Thank you so much for writing Ruff! With Transformers having so many files, you’re saving us a loooooot [sic] of time on formatting.”

Marsh, however, has always been transparent about what he thinks are Ruff’s limitations, “It supports only a small set of rules till now and isn’t extensible in any way, it’s missing edge-case handling and is significantly under-tested compared to existing tools.”

Since then Marsh has worked on improving the tool. There’s an official VS Code extension released to support Quick Fix actions to autofix lint errors, flake8-to-ruff which automates migration from Flake8 to Ruff as well as Conda and Homebrew distributions for easy installation of the tool.

By changing just one line of code, Pandarallel enables you to parallelise its processes to multiple CPU cores. Codes such as apply(), applymap(), groupby(), map(), and rolling() are all supported here.

3. Modin

Much like Pandarallel, Modin can also be used to enhance your pandas workflow by altering a single line of code.

4. Jupyter-Datatables

The aim of Jupyter-Datatables is to improve DataFrame’s default preview. It comprises sorting, filtering, exporting, displaying column distribution, printing several data types, and pagination.

5. DuckDB

With DuckDB, you can analyse a Pandas DataFrame in Jupyter with SQL syntax without noticing any significant run-time differences.

6. Swifter

swifter package quickly and effectively applies any function to a pandas dataframe or series to make it faster.

7. Dora

Dora, a python module, was created to automate the long processes involved in exploratory data analysis. Convenience functions for data cleansing, feature selection and extraction, visualisation, data partitioning for model validation, and data versioning are all included in the package. In addition, the library employs popular Python data analysis tools such as pandas, scikit-learn, and matplotlib.

8. Tabula-py

tabula-py is a Python wrapper for tabula-java, a programme that can read tables from PDFs. Tables from a PDF can be read and then changed into a pandas DataFrame. A PDF file can also be transformed into a CSV, TSV, or JSON file using tabula-py.

9. Pandas Alive

Similar to Pandas’ existing Visualisation function, Pandas Alive can generate animated matplotlib charts for Pandas DataFrames.

10. Visual Python

A GUI-based Python code generator, Visual Python was created to serve as an add-on for JupyterLab, Jupyter Notebook, and Google Colab. An open-source project called ‘Visual Python’ was released by students who had trouble coding in their data science Python classes.

11. Mars

Mars is a tensor-based unified framework that integrates numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, and other libraries for large-scale data computation.

12. Dexplot

Dexplot is a Python module that provides users with a simple interface for data visualisations. Dexplot’s objectives are to keep an intuitive, consistent API with the fewest methods required to create the appropriate statistical plots and to give the user immense power without requiring matplotlib.

13. D-Tale

D-Tale integrates a React front-end with a Flask backend to simplify exploring and analysing Pandas data structures and act as a visualiser. It supports python/ipython terminals and ipython notebooks. Pandas objects, such as DataFrame, Series, MultiIndex, DatetimeIndex, and RangeIndex, can work.

14. Pandas-log

Pandas-log provides feedback on the fundamental pandas’ activities. It offers wrapper functions for the most used ones, including. query,.apply, .merge, .group_by, and others.

15. Skimpy

Using the terminal or your interactive Python window, the lightweight tool Skimpy generates summary statistics on variables in data frames.
